Why choose BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Applied Psychology?

The BTEC course focuses on skills-based learning as well as supporting learners to develop a strong knowledge and understanding of core themes related to Psychology. We aim to develop your understanding of the brain and mental processes and how this affects an individual’s behaviour. You will also be given opportunities to participate in research, conduct your own independent studies and read journal articles.
Rather than testing everything together at the end of a two-year course like most A-Level courses, BTECs are tested throughout the course through assessments based on real-life scenarios related to Psychology. This applied approach to learning Psychology allows learners who are looking for the support of coursework elements to develop and apply their knowledge academically. Understanding human behaviour is fundamental to society and as such you will develop skills that are beneficial in many areas of work.
